If you are looking to start a new company which is a "not for profit" company, such as a club or an association, you need to form a company Limited By Guarantee, rather than Limited By Shares.
The process is very similar to a normal financially trading company, and we have the legal documents prepared to allow you to form a club / association online
The one question you need to ask yourself is whether the company is going to have an Executive Committee to run the club/association. The legal documents required vary slightly so we provide versions for both with and without an Executive Committee.
Finally you can choose whether to have the word LIMITED at the end of the company name. Companies limited by guarantee can opt to file a "Section 30" exemption to not have the word LIMITED on the end of the name, even though it will still be a limited company. e.g. BIRMINGHAM HOUSING AND BEDDING ASSOCIATION LIMITED may prefer to be BIRMINGHAM HOUSING AND BEDDING ASSOCIATION
